Volunteers

ABDC recruits and trains 100+ volunteers from local businesses, government entities, professional associations, and students from local and out of state universities to prepare taxes and provide tax education in rural Alaska communities.

Volunteers provide a valuable service, gain hands-on experience and are immersed in authentic Alaska Native culture.

The program is unique, requiring an absolute commitment to training and travel and a flexible, understanding attitude when experiencing travel to rural destinations, extreme weather conditions and often limited available amenities. Therefore, volunteers are vetted prior to being accepted into the program.

For more information about volunteering, please see the 2020 Volunteer Brochure.

Thank You to all program volunteers for your support and dedication through the years.
