ABDC's Volunteer Tax & Loan Program
Tax Preperation
ABDC's Volunteer Tax & Loan Program provides tax preparation service for rural Alaskan residents free of charge to the individual taxpayer. These services are provided by sending a team of qualified volunteers to rural communities who prepare the tax return on-site and then e-file it from ABDC's office upon return to Anchorage. Additionally, if an individual misses the team while in their community or if unforeseen circumstances such as bad weather prevent the team from making it to the community, taxpayers have the option of mailing their information into ABDC's office where their return is prepared.
During the 2007 tax season, the program serviced over 90 villages, assisted over 5,400 taxpayers, provided $3.5 million in tax refunds within the nine state regions the program services. If your community is interested in participating in the program, please contact ABDC.
